Topic               :           At the Beach

Learning         :           Pupils will be able to fill in the correct word

Outcome/Objective    pertaining to the passage and write the correct

                                    singular and plural.

           

Specification   : 1.3.3 Listen to and understand phrases/passage

(2nd column HSP)  2.2.1 Ask questions to seek information and clarification.

                          3.4.1 Read aloud phrases and sentences correctly

                          4.2.2 Complete the text with missing words

Strategies       :

Step 1: Shared Reading – Teacher reads along with pupils with correct intonation and stress.

Step 2: Focused word work – eg singular-plural

Step 3: Independent work/guided reading 

1.      Fill in the missing words correctly

 

2.      Write the correct singular-plural

Step 4: Summing up – eg. Word puzzle

Outcome/Objective    politely in response to enquiries made.

                                   

Specification               : 2.3.3 Talk about things heard, seen, read

Strategies       : Pre- Reading

  1. Some animals come to stay in our garden. What are these animals? Get pupils to name them
  2. Do you know what noise they make? Get pupils to make the animal sound.
  3. Do you know how they move? Get pupils to act on how the animals move.
  4. Teacher puts up the poem and reads to the class.

Moral Value     : To appreciate the God creation.

Impact              : Pupils could come up with a lot of actions and enjoy themselves.

1.        Teacher reads the poem aloud to the class.

2.        Each pupil reads the poem silently.

3.        Another pupil reads the poem aloud to the class.

4.         Each group uses different voices and read aloud.

Strategies       : Post Reading

  1. Get pupils to state whether they like the story or not. Give reasons. (Why)
  2. Get pupils to discuss if the story reminds them of anyone they know. ( eg family, friends)

Impact              : Pupils are able to describe the animals. give out their own opinion
